Lady Wildcats Defeat Loris Lions

The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Loris Lions 19 to 2 in 4 innings in varsity softball action played Friday, April 15, in Loris.
The ‘Cats Tori Grimsley pitched 3 innings and allowed 4 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 1, and struck out 4.
Loris’ Cox also pitched 3 innings and was tagged for the loss allowing 10 hits, 19 runs of which 13 were earned, walked 7, and struck out 2.
Dillon picked up 3 runs in the top of the second inning, and Loris picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning but Dillon erupted for 16 runs in the top of the fourth inning.
The Wildcats’ bats came alive for 14 hits while holding Loris to 4.
Tori Grimsley led the Wildcats with 3 hits and 4 rbi in 4 trips to the plate. Ashley Phillips connected on 2 doubles in 3 at bats while Emilee Price was perfect in her 2 trips to the plate with 2 hits including a double  and 4 rbi.
Taylor Blackmon was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and 1 rbi while Marissa Tyndall garnered 2 hits in 3 trips to the plate.
The Loris Lions committed 4 errors in the game, and Dillon did not commit an error.
Dillon is 11 and 4 for the season and 7 and 1 in region 8-2A.
