The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Latta managed to score 3 runs. John Malcolm George was perfect at the plate in his one trip as he garnered a double and a rbi. Jordan Hayes singled in two trips to the plate while Kody Anderson picked up a double and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats.
Lamar’s T. Twiford singled in his one trip to the plate while R. Coleman singled in 2 at-bats.

The Latta Vikings defeated Darlington 4-2 in varsity baseball action on Monday, March 28, in Cheraw, in a non-league game.
The Vikings took an early lead 3-0 in the first inning of the 5-inning game and never trailed. The Vikings also picked up a run in the top of the second inning while Darlington managed a run in the bottom of the first and 4 innings.
Latta’s McLeod Carmichael pitched 5 innings and struck out 5, walked 1, and allowed 6 hits in the victory. Darlington’s A. Hopkins pitched 3.1 innings and struck out 5 and allowed 4 hits.
The Falcons’ T. Spangler pitched 1.2 innings and allowed 4 hits and 4 walks.
The Latta Vikings garnered 8 hits in the game of which Cledus Williams hit a home run in his 2 at-bats for Latta. Caleb Mishue got 2 singles in 3 trips to the plate while Colby Lee picked up a double in 2 trips to the plate. Jackson Williams singled in 2 trips to the plate for the Vikings while Jonathan Ray and Dylan Brewer each singled in 3 trips to the plate.

The Latta Vikings varsity baseball defeated Beaufort 9-0 in a game played in Cheraw on Monday, March 28.
The Vikings’ Caleb Mishue pitched five innings in the win and did not allow a hit or a walk. However, the Vikings committed an error while Beaufort committed 3. Joplin was credited with the loss for Beaufort.
The Vikings took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning but poured on the scoring in the bottom of the second inning to pick up 5 runs. Latta also picked up 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the final score 9-0.
Latta garnered 8 hits in the game led by Dylan Brewer who picked up 2 singles in 3 at-bats with 3 rbi. Jonathan Ray and Cledus Williams each also picked up 2 singles in 3 trips to the plate. Eric McGirt got an single and a double in his 4 at-bats.

Lamar’s L. Amerson was tagged with the loss having pitched 4 innings. He allowed 8 hits, 10 runs of which 5 were earned, struck out 4, and walked 1. A. Teddes pitched 2/3 of an inning in the loss and walked one while C. Jordan pitched 1/3 of an inning in the defeat and allowed 2 hits, 4 runs which 3 were earned, struck out 1, and walked 3.
Latta’s Colby Lee was perfect at the plate with a total of 3 singles, 1 in the first, 1 in the third, and 1 in the fourth in his 3 trips to the plate while picking up 2 rbi and scoring 2 runs.
