The Latta Vikings girls basketball team defeated Creek Bridge 49 to 9 in Latta Friday, January 29th.
At the conclusion of the first half Latta held the lead at 36 to 5.
Latta’s #23, Takeria Legette scored the first points of the second half when she was fouled attempting a 3-point shot. She successfully made 2 of her 3 free throws. Latta’s #3, Iyonna McKenzie sank 1 for 2 points. The next points of the game were made by #32 when she sank 2 free throws to give Latta the lead at 42 to 5 after 3 quarters.
Latta’s #32 got the rebound on a missed shot by #10, Rianna Green and laid the ball in for 2 points.
Latta’s #21 Arica Gandy scored 2 points to put Latta ahead 46 to 7.
Latta’s #10 Rianna Green sank 1 of her 2 free throws after being fouled.
The final score was Latta 49 and Creek Bridge 9.
In the first quarter Latta gamed 23 points, in the second quarter Latta picked up 13 points, in the third quarter Latta picked up 5 points, and in the final quarter Latta scored 7 points.
Creek Bridge managed to pick up 5 points in the second quarter and 4 points in the final quarter. Latta’s Rianna Green led all scorers with 18 points followed by Takeria with 16, Latta’s #32 with 9, Mallory Townsend with 3, and Arica Gandy with 3.
