Louis Bentley Hardaway, Jr.

Louis Bentley Hardaway Jr., 83, of Dillon, SC, died November 18, 2015, at McLeod Medical Center – Dillon.  A son of the late Louis Bentley Hardaway Sr and Delle Stackhouse Bethea Hardaway, Bentley was born in Dillon County on August 19, 1932 and was preceded in death by a daughter, Eris Dawn Hardaway, a brother Hugh Hardaway (Wilmington, NC) and sister JoAnn King (Hartsville, SC).
A US Army veteran, Bentley worked as a farmer and retired as a US Postal Service Letter Carrier.  During a life of Christian service, Bentley was a lifelong member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon, Elder, Church Officer and Sunday School teacher.
An avid fan of the Clemson Tigers, Bentley enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and watching over  his neighbors from his golf cart. Never short on words, Bentley shared his outgoing personality with those he met and you were never a stranger long.
Survivors include Dale Jones Hardaway of the home, brother Robert Wallace Hardaway of Charlotte, NC, sons William Bentley (Ben) Hardaway (Sharon) of Summerville, SC, Robert Louis (Bob) Hardaway (Elizabeth) of Dalton, GA, and grandchildren Justin Bentley Hardaway, Dannielle Dawn Hardaway, Camden Frances Hardaway, Robert Louis Hardaway II and Samuel Heath Hardaway.
Visitation is Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Kannaday Funeral Home, Dillon SC.
The funeral will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015, at 2:00 pm, at Carolina Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, SC.   The Family will receive visitors at the Church after the funeral.
