Bobby and Sharon Ray at approximately 9:24 p.m. Cox said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The family was not at home at the time of the fire. Sharon Ray told The Herald that she was in Lake View at the Latta-Lake View football game because her daughter, Allyson, plays in the band. Ray received a call from Anita Mace, the school nurse, who told her that her house was on fire and that she had called the fire department. She asked who was with her to determine if anyone was home. Ray told her that her family was with her.
Ray then got her daughter and headed towards her home. She said that was the longest ride she had ever taken from Lake View.
Her sister, Pam, went to the scene and called her and told her the whole house was gone. It was blazing.
“We lost everything,” said Ray. “There is no doubt that everything is gone We’re starting over.”
“We’re all fine,” said Ray. “And that’s all that counts.”
She said the community has been awesome and willing to help, and she and her family really appreciate this.
