Dillon District Four Teacher Of The Year Banquet (with video)

Kylie Lane, a teacher at Lake View Elementary School, was named the Dillon District Four Teacher Of The Year at a banquet held at the Dillon District Four Auditorium on Monday. Below is a video by Betsy Finklea/The Dillon Herald of the event:

Kylie Page Lane, fourth grade teacher at Lake View Elementary School, was named the district’s 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year at the annual banquet held on Monday, September 21, 2015.  
Ms. Lane and seven colleagues representing their schools attended the banquet with district administrators, local board members, and special guests of the honorees.
The annual banquet was held in the foyer of the new district auditorium located at 1738 Highway 301 North.  
After a delicious dinner was served, each principal announced his/her school representative and shared attributes that contributed to their selection by their peers.  
Each school’s 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year representative was presented with a crystal gift from the Board of Trustees.  Presentations were made by superintendent, D. Ray Rogers, and board chairman, Ethel Taylor.  
After principals recognized their teachers and board presentations were made, Horace Mann Insurance agents, David Stanley, Ricky Blum and Crystal Ratley, recognized each recipient with a monetary award.  
Dillon School District Four Superintendent, Ray Rogers, shared his admiration and appreciation to all candidates before announcing the district winner.  
As the district’s 2015-2016 District Teacher of the Year, Ms. Lane received $1,000 and an engraved watch denoting this honor.  As the district’s representative, Ms. Lane will complete the 2017 State Teacher of the Year Application packet.  It will be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Education for the statewide competition.
School representatives recognized at the banquet included:  Nichole Lewis, first grade teacher at East Elementary, Melissa Rowell, third grade teacher at South Elementary, Alison Moody, kindergarten teacher at Stewart Heights Elementary, Sandy Webster, third through fifth grade gifted and talented teacher at Gordon Elementary and Lake View Elementary, Audrey Hart, seventh grade teacher at Dillon Middle School, Maurice Robinson, biology teacher at Dillon High School and Matt Ammons, history and economics teacher at Lake View High School.
