Lake View Defeats St. John’s

Lake View defeated St. John’s, 32-6, on Friday night
St. John kicked off to Lake View, and Lake View started off on their own 38-yard line. No. 8 Delvon Bethea carried the ball for a first down. At fourth down with three to go, St. John’s held Lake View on the 42-yard line.
St. John’s took over and on the first carry, made one yard. The next carry was for no gain followed by an incomplete pass so St. John’s had to punt the ball.
Lake View’s No. 33 De-Ante Bridgett carried the ball for four yeards. Then Ty’Shawn McDaniel, a junior, carried the ball in for a touchdown. Lake View then made the two-point conversion bringing the score to 8-0.
After Lake View kicks off to St. John’s, St. John’s quarterback kept the ball on the first down for no gain. He then passed the ball which was caught and carried for no gain. St. John’s was forced to punt the ball.
Lake View’s No. 10 Duane Nichols passed the ball for seven yards.  On fourth, Tyshawn McDaniel carried the ball for the first down. On the next carry by McDaniel, a flag was thrown on the play and it was against Lake View. On first down with 25 yards, De’Ante Bridget, carried the ball for five yards. The next play, a Nichols pass, was incomplete.
St. John’s gets the ball but does nothing with it and has to punt.
Delvon Bethea faked the punt and carries it for a 30-yard touchdown, but a flag on the play for roughing the kicker makes the touchdown null and void. St. John’s gets the ball back.
St. John’s carries the ball on first down. There is a flag on a play for holding against St. John’s. On the next play, St. John’s is dropped in the backfield for a 5-yard loss after turning the ball over on downs.
Lake View gets the ball back. De’Ante Bridgett is dropped for a 2-yard loss. Duane Nichols throws a touchdown pass to Delvon Bethea. There is a flag on the play against Lake View and the touchdown is called back. De’Antee Bridget carries the ball. After two more plays, St. John’s gets  the ball back. St. John’s carries the ball for a first down. Other carries follow. St. John’s gets to fourth and nine and has to punt.

No. 21 Randall Washington carried for seven yards.
Delvon Bethea gets injured.
Ty’Shawn McDaniel carries the ball for a first down. Nichols completes a pass to Carson Rogers for a first down.
Bridgett carries the ball for a first down. McDaniel scores bringing the score to 14-0. Lake View gets the two-point conversion on a fake bringing the score to 16-0.
St. John’s takes the kick-off. There is a flag on the play against St. John’s. St. John’s passes for a completion followed by a carry. There is another flag. The next pass is incomplete, and the first half ends with Lake View leading 16-0. After half-time, Lake  View kicks off to St. John’s and St. John’s carries for the first down. The pass is completed for a first down followed by another carry for a first down. St. John’s fumbles a hand-off and recovers the ball. They complete a pass. At fourth and two on the 5-yard line, St. John’s opts to carry the ball. There is a flag on the play—an illegal shift on St. John’s. At fourth and nine from the 10-yard line, theyfaked a field goal. A horse collar penalty against Lake View gives St. John’s the first down. St. John’s carried on fourth down. There is a flag on the play.
Lake View gets the ball. McDaniel carries for a touchdown from their own 5-yard line for a 95-yard touchdown. Lake View leads 22-0. A two point conversion is completed. Lake View leads 24-0.
Brandon Acevedo for Lake View kicks off. St. John’s carries the ball. Then another carry and a flag on the play against St. John. St. John’s luck changes and they carry for 50-yard touchdown with 3:01 left in the third. St. John’s carries the ball in for two points, but a penalty calls it back. McDaniel make an interception on the two-point attenpt.
After three quarters, Lake View led 24-6. The fourth quarter didn’t go any better for St. John and Tyshawn McDaniel made another touchdown for Lake View. The final score was 32-6.
Lake View faces Lamar in their next game.
