Dillon Christian Blows Out King’s Academy

The Dillon Christian School Warriors upped their record to 3-1 with a 62-0 blowout win over the Lions of The Kings Academy of Florence. This was the Warriors first home game and they entered the field waving the American Flag to honor the victims of the cowardly bombing of the World Trade Centers in New York on September 11, 2001.
The Warriors set a school record by scoring 35 points in the first quarter in a game where the Warriors seemed to do no wrong and the Lions could do no right.
The Warrior kicking game was much improved in this match with 8 of 9 extra points made and no kickoff returns made it near the mid-field mark. TeShaun Lane picked up the Warriors first touchdown on a 24 yard run with 9:59 left in the first quarter. Jackson Wolfe added the point after kick to put the Warriors up 7-0. On the Warriors next possession Warrior quarterback Michael Minges finished the drive with a 17 yard touchdown pass to Tyreck Toomer. Wolfes kick upped the Warrior lead to 14-0 with 6:48 left in the first quarter. The Warriors took advantage of a lion muffed punt getting the ball inside the Lion 44-yard line and two plays later TeShaun Lane got his second touchdown on a 40-yard run. The point after kick by Wolfe increased the Warrior lead to 21-0 with 4:03 left in the first quarter. Toomer intercepted a Lion pass at the Lion 41 yard lion to set up the Warrior’s next score. Minges hit Red Williams with the 41-yard TD strike. Wolfe put the Warriors up 28-0 with 3:40 left in the first quarter.
With 21 seconds left in the quarter, Minges broke tackles on his way to a 64-yard quarterback keeper run. Wolfe broke the record with his kick giving the Warriors a 35-0 first quarter lead. On the Warriors first possession of the second quarter Kelvin Stackhouse ran through the Lion defense on his way to a 36 yard touchdown run. The kick was off holding the Warrior lead to 41-0 with 8:15 left in the second quarter. Kelvin Stackhouse picked off a Lion pass and returned it 50 yards to the Lion two-yard line. Stackhouse got the call to take it the rest of the way for the two yard touchdown run. Wolfe added the point after kick to give the Warriors a 48-0 lead and they would take this lead into the halftime break. The second half clock was run without stoppage to prevent excessive scoring against the Lions.
On the Warriors first possession of the third quarter, Kelvin Stackhouse had an 89-yard touchdown run called back due to a block in the back penalty. The Warriors recovered quickly and this time Tyreck Toomer ran through and over the Lion defenders on his way to a 92 -yard touchdown run. Wolfe’s kick increased the Warrior lead to 55-0 with 8:22 left in the third quarter. Every player on the Warrior roster saw action in this game and Garret Collins picked up the final touchdown on a one yard run with 24 seconds left in the third quarter. Wolfe’s point after kick ended the Warrior scoring at 62 points. The Warriors could have added more points and in their final possession they let the clock run out at the one foot line. On offense for the Warriors, Michael Minges was 3 for 3 passing for 79 yards and two touchdowns and ran in a touchdown from 64 yards out, TeShaun Lane had 101 yards on six carries with two touchdowns and caught a pass for 21 yards, Tyreck Toomer caught a 17 yard touchdown pass and ran 92 yards for a touchdown, Kelvin Stackhouse had 57 yards on four carries with two touchdowns and had an 89 yard TD run called back on a penalty, Garret Collins had 43 yards on 8 carries with a touchdown, Anthony “Red” Williams caught a 41 yard touchdown pass, Bryan Davis was 1 for 1 passing for 35 yards, Jared Darmon caught the 35 yard pass and was hit twice as he fought to secure the ball in an outstanding effort and Connor Hamilton had 7 yards on two carries on defense for the Warriors, Kelvin Stackhouse had five tackles, two assists, a fumble recovery and an interception with a 50 yard return, Ethan Shackelford had 4 tackles, two assists, and two quarterback sacks, TeShaun Lane and David Williams had four tackles with an assist each, Garret Collins and Hamilton Hodges three tackles with an assist each, Nick Smith, Jake Boykin, Mason Bailey and Bradley Patterson had two tackles with an assist each with Bailey also batting down a pass, Red Williams, Hunter Tyner and Samuel Coleman added a tackle with two assists each, Jackson Wolfe and Mathew Fitzgibbon added a tackle each, Dallas Feeko, Jared Darmon and Connor Hamilton had two tackle assists each and Tyreck Toomer added an interception.
The Warriors will be at home Friday with a region game with Williamsburg Academy with game time set for 7:30
