Mrs. Christie Barbour Moody died Friday, Aug 28, 2015 at McLeod Hospice House of Florence after an illness.
A funeral service was Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 at 4:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View, with burial to follow at Lake View Perpetual Cemetery. The family receive dfriends Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View.
Christie was born in Florence, SC, the daughter of Dorothy May and the late Charles Richard Barbour. She was a member of Lake View First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Class of Ruth Sunday School Class and the WMU Nigthttimers at the church. She was a dedicated member of the Dillon Christian School PTA and the Dillon County Chamber of Commerce. She worked at Florence District I as a Transition Assistant in the Office of Transitions Services.
Mrs. Moody is survived by her husband of almost 20 years, Beaman Carlton Moody, Jr.; her son, Beaman Carlton Moody, III (Chase) and daughters, Madison Catherine Moody and Morgan Caroline Moody of the home; mother, Dorothy Oates May (Robert) of Durham, NC; brother, Rick Barbour (Janis) of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Lynn Horne (Snooky) of Lexington, SC ; step-sister, Robin Harris (Chris) of Durham, NC; mother-in-law, Patricia Moody of Lake View; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, B. B. and Benji.
Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her daughter, Meredith Claire Moody and father-in-law, Beaman Carlton Moody.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christie Moody Educational Fund at First Citizens Bank or Moody Children Educational Fund at Dillon Christian School.
