Pee Dee Chapter Kicks Off SCJGA Summer Tour

The Pee Dee Chapter of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association kicked off their annual Hootie & the Blowfish Jr. Golf Tour on Thursday, June 11, at Crossings Golf Course in Florence, SC.

The SCJGA is one of the top regional junior golf associations in the country, and is open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 18. The purpose of the program is to continue the history and traditions of the sport through its members and active outreach to youth players throughout the state.

The Hootie & the Blowfish Junior Golf Series is conducted every summer through local chapters of the SCJGA at various courses around the state. The summer series gives junior golfers a chance to be part of a fun, weekly tournament scheduled to develop their skills, a knowledge of the rules, and friendships with their fellow golfers.

At the end of the regular season, the top third of every age group will be invited to the Pee Dee Tour Championship. The two top finishers in the championship in each age group are invited to the Tommy Cuthbert All Stars Championship on Sunday, August 23, and Monday, August 24, at Ocean Winds Club at Seabrook Island.

The next tournaments are scheduled for Traces Golf Club on Tuesday, June 16, and Lake City Country Club on Thursday, June 18.

Interested players can register online by going to www.scjga.org and selecting “Hootie and the Blowfish Chapter Program” and then “Pee Dee Chapter.”
