Five Local Players Picked for All-Stars

Three local softball players and two local baseball players have been selected for All-Star teams.

Dillon’s Shaquailla German has been selected for the South squad in the Class 2A/3A North-South All-Star softball game, while Latta’s Dori Webster and Lake View’s Ashley Rogers have been chosen for the Class A/4A game.

Lake View softball coach Brandy Huggins will be an assistant to the Class A/4A South squad.

The North-South All-Star softball games will feature some of the top seniors in the state and will be held Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, at USC Aiken.

Meanwhile, Latta’s John Kever Love has been selected to play in the North Carolina/South Carolina Select Game, which features the top seniors from both states. Love will play for the SC Select squad along with some of the best talent from South Carolina, including Ninety Six’s Jacob Childress and Belton-Honea Path’s Jake Crawford, who both played on state championship teams this season.

The North Carolina/South Carolina Select game will be played on Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, at Coastal Carolina University.

Dillon’s Patrick Herring was also selected for the North-South All-Star baseball game. Herring will play for the South squad in the Class 2A/3A All-Star game. The team includes Will Golden of Waccamaw, Colt Springs of Marlboro County, and Toby Burchfield and Grant Thompson of Hartsville.

The North-South All-Star baseball games will be held on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, at The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Class A/4A team includes Daxaier Lesane of Carvers Bay and Steven Cox of East Clarendon.
