Rev. Russell Bethea, 98, of Lawrenceville, NJ, peacefully passed away at home on May 9, 2015.
Born in Dillon, SC as the youngest of ten siblings, Rev. Bethea was educated in the Dillon Public School System. He was a resident of Trenton for over 76 years and worked as a Master Barber. He operated Russ’ Barber Shop for many years.
Rev. Bethea accepted Christ and was baptized in 1958. After studying theology at Delaware Valley Bible School and Philadelphia Bible College, he founded and pastored Miracle Tabernacle Church for over 33 years and was instrumental in leading many people to Christ.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 73 years, Sarah Ruth McNeil Bethea and his parents, Truss and Lillie Bethea, he is survived by his daughter, Sherry; three grandsons, Jonathan, Sr., David, and Steven Bronner; two great grandsons, Julian and Jonathan, Jr.; special nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held May 16, 2015 in Trenton, NJ.
Interment was in Ewing Cemetery, Trenton.
Arrangements were by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton, NJ.
