Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer Efforts Recognized

The Hospital Auxiliary promotes McLeod Dillon through its volunteer efforts.  
Volunteering many hours per month, they operate the Pink Dogwood gift shop, serve as hostesses at the Main Lobby Entrance, assist patients and staff member in the Cardiac Rehab and Physical Therapy outpatient areas and give of their time at hospital functions, Red Cross blood drives and many other events throughout the year.  Proceeds from the gift shop and several other annual fundraisers that are held throughout the year have been used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for McLeod Dillon.  
The Auxiliary members have also established a scholarship fund to encourage deserving individuals in Dillon County to further their education in health-related careers.  Scholarships are awarded annually.
On April 15, Auxiliary members were awarded service pins to recognize those members that completed an initial 100 hours of service in 2014.  The members were: Dorothy Carmichael (146 hours); Lynda Mills (119 hours); Judy Powell (215 hours) and Julia Sawyer (168 hours).              
The following members were also recognized for each 500 hours served thereafter during 2014: Jan Austin (3,552 hours); Christine Carmichael (3,276 hours); Gayle Coleman (527 hours); Betty Collins (3,030 hours); Beth Cottingham (591 hours); Linda Dutton (1,104 hours); Betty Sue Herring (1,546 hours); Ruby Hodge (2,649 hours); Susan Kannaday (509 hours); Bill Lee (1,010 hours); Barbara Manning (542 hours); Patti McInnis (1,053 hours); Fay Miller (2,061 hours); Mildred Mishue (1,834 hours); Kati Paul (504 hours); Betty Stout (1,131 hours) and Joyce Wallace (1,015 hours).
As a group, the Volunteer Auxiliary provided McLeod Dillon with a total of 26,582 volunteer hours during 2014.
