Latta’s Lady Vikings earned a 46-36 win over the Marion Swamp Foxes in Marion on Thursday, December 18, in girls varsity basketball action.
Latta took a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and edged the Swamp Foxes 9-8 in the second to lead 22-14 at the half. The Lady Vikings held off Marion 10-9 in the third and 14-13 in the fourth to seal the win.
TaKeria Legette led the Vikings with a game-high 22 points with seven rebounds, and Maya Wright added 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the win. Townsend added six points; Johnson, 5; and Desser, 2.
Zakiya Wright led Marion with a team-high 10 points. Morrisey added 7; Wiley, 5; S. Johnson, 4; Godbolt, 4; A. Johnson, 3; and Daniels, 3.
Latta improved to 4-2 overall on the season as they headed into the winter break. The Lady Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, January 6, in Dillon to take on the Lady Wildcats.
