The Dillon Diamond Backs 10u travel softball team finished in a first place tie in the 1st Annual Grand Strand Battle of Champions in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 22.
The tournament was shortened due to rain. The Diamond Backs were one of four undefeated teams in the 10U division. The other three undefeated teams were the Port City Thunder of Wilmington, NC; North Charleston Thunder of North Charleston, SC; and Dirt Dynasty of Lexington, SC. There were 22 total teams in the tournament.
The Diamond Backs won four games in the tournament, defeating the Carolina Pride 10-3 in the final game to remain undefeated.
The Diamond Backs include Logan Grice, Raven Locklear, Riley Calcutt, Lindsey Floyd, Kaylee Holloway, Ashton Goodwin, Taryn Weatherford, Zay Flowers, Allyson Lundy, Hanna Andrews, and Tabitha Williams.
The coaching staff includes Stevie Grice, Wayne Floyd, and Rich Williams.
