Mrs. Robbie Hayes died Friday, October 17, 2014 at her home in Marietta, NC.
A funeral service will be held at Olivet United Methodist Church in Marietta, NC Monday, October 20, 2014 at 3:00 pm, with burial to follow at Marietta Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mrs. Robbye was born near Rusk, Texas (Cherokee County) on December 9, 1918 to Robert Lee Craig and Lucy Pearl Watts Craig. She was a member of Olivet. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hayes, Jr.; parents; one daughter, Nancy Hayes Hinson of Dillon, SC; one sister, Mary Alice Craig Cook of Texas; one brother, Willee Lee Craig of Texas; and granddaughter, Kim Cox Curry of Dillon SC.
Surviving are two sons, James Craig Hayes (Mary) of Chapel Hill, NC and Richard Bennett Hayes (Connie) of Fairmont NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Laura Rowell, Jennifer Hayes, Robyn Hayes, Jamie Williams, Daniel Barnes, Rebecca Hayes; and 8 great grandchildren, Kayla Curry, Jordan Rowell, Alana Brown, Jayden Rowell, Jaclyn Rowell, Madison Barnes, Olivia Schnaible and Eva Schnaible.
