Dillon Wildcat Eri’Reon Hayes has been chosen to play in the 78th Annual Shrine Bowl on December 20 at Gibbs Stadium, at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The Shrine Bowl showcases the top seniors from North Carolina and South Carolina, with South Carolina earning a 28-23 win last year.
The 6-foot-2, 198-lb. senior will be part of the South Carolina team and was the only local player chosen. Hayes was selected to play as a defensive back though he has also been a standout receiver for the Wildcats.
Hayes has 10 touchdowns and almost 500 yards receiving so far this season. He has offers from East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, and Old Dominion.
Hayes was one of over 400 players nominated for the game and one of 44 selected for the SC team.
