Kathleen Kerr Bell

Mrs. Kathleen Kerr Bell, 70, resident of High Point, died August 21st, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Bell was born June 12, 2014 in Dillon, SC, a daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jennings Kerr. After growing up in Dillon, she graduated from Winthrop University and later moved to High Point in 1983. She retired from Rose Furniture and was active with the High Point Library, serving as President of the Friends of the Library. She also was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she had been active with Presbyterian Women and Congregational Care Committee. Kathleen had many interests, including tennis, gardening, classical music, traveling and especially, her grandchildren. She also was a member of the High Point Junior League and the Emerywood Forest Garden Club. She greatly valued her many friends in High Point, who remained very close to her and her husband throughout the years. On July 23rd, 1965, she married Sion (Si) Alford Bell who survives her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sion (Si) Alford Bell Jr.; a grandson, Joseph Owen Pierce; a brother, John Jennings Kerr, and a sister, Armin Pittman Marvin.
Also surviving is her daughter, Jennifer Pierce and husband Dr. Andy Pierce of Germantown, TN; her daughter-in-law, Kim Bell of High Point; two sisters, Bonny Kerr Herman of Dade City, FL and Winna Kerr Ellis of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren, Brinley Elizabeth Bell, Duncan Sion Bell, Andrew Scot Pierce Jr., Sarah Grace Pierce, Elizabeth Bell Pierce, Lucy Anna Pierce, Sophia Katherine Pierce and Sion Alford Pierce; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Kenneth Broman-Fulks officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Family Life Center at First Presbyterian Church and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
