Carl Ford, 73, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, February 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Hector Mack Ford and Grace Rogers Ford. He was a member of Open Community Church, and was the widower of the late Betty Jean Norris Ford.
Survivors include his sons, Carl Ford, Jr. (Lori) of Fairmont, NC, David Valvano of Dillon, James Wayne Gough (Sandy) of Hartsville, Timothy Jerome Gough (Shelley) of Covington, TN, and Jerry Lee Gough (Kim) of Dillon; daughters, Lisa Hyatt (Michael) of Dillon, Crystal Ford (Mitchell Davis) of Dillon, Penny Ford Erickson (Keith) of Florida, and Ellen McFaden of Pennsylvania; sister, Earline McDonald of Dillon; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Norris Ford; sister, Betty Lou Ford, and brothers, Harley, Robert, and LeRoy Ford.
