The Dillon County Council approved the following recreation requests at their July 23rd meeting:
· $75.00 from Councilman Archie Scott’s account for Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, Rowland, NC, for remodeling – requested by Annie Mae McAllister, a Dillon resident.
· $25.00 from Councilman Archie Scoot’s account for a Caption Awards – $25 sponsorship for the 10th Annual Dillon Battle of the Bands sponsored by the Dillon High School Band Booster Club.
· $120 from Councilman Archie Scott’s account and $120 from Councilman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea’s account for the Green Brothers Annual Battle of the Border Karate Tournament for the TZK Karate Kids.
· $100 from Councilman Joe Johnson’s account for the Latta Sweeties Softball team.
· $100 from Councilman Buzzy Finklea’s account and $100 from Councilman Bobby Moody’s account for the Latta 11 & 12 year old Pony Tails State Playoffs trip.
· $160 from Chairman Andrew “Deboy” Graves account to Barnhill’s Pumping and Port-A-John service for a port-a-john for the Minturn Reunion.
· $25 from Councilman Archie Scott’s account to the True Vine Ministries Wellness Benefit for a cancer patient.
· $100 for a Taste of Dillon County sponsorship from Councilman Joe Johnson’s account.
· $128.58 for the Citizens of Newtown Summer Recreation Program from Councilman Randy Goings account.
