The Col.E.T. Stackhouse Camp 1576 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans attended the South Carolina State convention on March 29, 2014. The convention was held in Florence, SC at the SIMT building and hosted by the Pee Deep Rifles Camp 1419. While at the event the Stackhouse Camp received several awards: Robert E Lee Outstanding Camp Award -1st place; M.C. Butler Recruiting Award – 1st place; Southern Cross Graves Award – 1st place; David Keller Cemetery Clean Up Challenge – 1st place; Ambose Gonzalez Newsletter Award – 2nd place; Stephen D Lee Historical Project Award – Honorable Mention. The Col. Stackhouse Camp also received the Jefferson Davis Commanders Gold Star Award, which means they are the state wide overall camp of the year. The camp officers would like thank each one of the members, as this could not be possible without everyone pulling together.
