Wildcat Runners Qualify for Lower State Meet

Both the Dillon Wildcats girls and boys track teams had runners who qualified for the Class 2A Lower State meet during the qualifying meet on Friday, May 2.

In girls track, Dillon’s relay team of Andrianna McCollum, Jamesha Bethea, Dria Campbell, and Jazmin Wright took first place in both the 4×100 Relay and the 4×400 Relay.

Andrianna McCollum also took first place in the 100 Yard Dash and qualified for the 400 Meter Dash.

The Dillon boys track team of Brandon Wells, Da’quan Mills, Markest Harley, and Travon Manning took second place in the 4x100 Relay and the 4x400 Relay.

In boys track, the Dillon team of Brandon Wells, Da’Quan Mills, Markest Harley, and Travon Manning finished second place in the 4×100 Relay and the 4×400 Relay to qualify for Lower State.

Brandon Wells also took third place in the 100 Yard Dash and in the 200 Meter Dash to qualify.

Ja’Monte McGill finished first place in Discus Throw and second place in Shot Put to also qualify for the Lower State meet.

Qualifiers from both teams will travel to Woodland High School in Charleston, SC, for the Lower State meet this Saturday, May 10, along with the coaching staff of Tony Washington, Jason Gunter, and Randy Gray.
