Dillon’s Lady Wildcats fell 4-2 to Aynor in the second round of district playoffs in Class 2A softball, while the Wildcats earned a 6-2 win over Aynor in the baseball playoffs. The Dillon girls will face the winner of the Timmonsville/Lake Marion game on Monday night in an elimination match. The boys will host the winner of Monday’s game between Aynor and Timberland in Wednesday night’s championship.
In Class A, Latta’s Lady Vikings traveled to Branchville on Friday night for a 21-1 win and will host the winner of Monday’s game between Scott’s Branch and Branchville on Wednesday night in the district championship.
The Latta Vikings also picked up a win in the baseball playoffs, with the Vikings holding a 17-0 lead over Whale Branch after three innings. The Vikings will host the District VIII championship on Wednesday night.
Both Lake View teams also advanced. The boys will host the winner of Carvers Bay/Charleston Math & Science on Wednesday night in the championship, while the Lady Gators will host the winner of Carvers Bay/Cross.
