Betty Bryant Overturf

Mrs. Betty Bryant Overturf died Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home in Lake View, SC.
A funeral service was held at Lake View United Methodist Church on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 4:00 pm.   The family received friends Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Cook’s Funeral Home of Lake View. At other times, the family will be at the home of Frances and Edna Bryant at 1074 Old Kemper Road, Lake View SC 29563.
Mrs. Overturf was born in Marion County, the daughter of the late Odell and Ernestine Page Bryant.  She was a member of Lake View United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the WMU, and the Red Hat Club. She had retired from Dillon School District 2 and was currently employed with the Public Schools of Robeson County.  She also worked for and actively promoted events at Lake View Speedway.  She was also previously the Editor of The Times Messenger of Fairmont, NC.
Mrs. Overturf is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Ward (Cleo) and Janis Watrous (Kenneth); a special son, “Little” Stuart Cottingham; brother, Frances Bryant (Edna); sister, Suzanne Lewis (Jakie); grandchildren, Tyler Ward, Adelle Ward, Emily Watrous, Willow Watrous, and Braxton Watrous; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX 75231 and/or Lake View United Methodist Church Youth Fund, PO Box 277, Lake View, SC 29563.
