DHS Emphasizing Character

The Dillon High School family stresses excellence from its students, faculty and staff.  They strive for excellence in academics, athletics, and character.  Each month, the character education program stresses a character trait and emphasizes all positive character traits throughout the student population.  Teachers are asked to recognize those students who show positive character traits and serve as good role models for their peers.  Several students were recommended by their teachers as students who consistently show outstanding character traits.  Congratulations to the following students:   Robert (Brent) Williams, Rebecca Callahan, Timesha  Clements,  Sybria McNeil, Genevia Ford, Daijour Huggins-Samuel, Kamarah McNeil, Darius Bethea, Brandon Floyd, Tamera Graham, Marqhez Inman, Carrie James, Na’Kedra Page, Cristin Caulder, Marion Chavis, Bra’Asia Clark, Deashia Davis, Kevin Hoang, Brandon Hunt, Jessy Lara, Jessica Trejo, Angela Maxwell, Trevor Norris, and Kevin (Layne) Scott.  These students will receive a certificate at the end of the first quarter, as well as have a group photograph submitted to The Dillon Herald.  The character education program is sponsored by Mrs. Wanda Graham.
Just as these students are being recognized for their positive impact on our school, the faculty and staff of Dillon High School was recently treated to a steak dinner by Dr. Shawn Johnson and the administrative staff. This comes as a token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication by the teachers of our school.  The faculty, staff, and students of Dillon High School have worked extremely hard in their strive for academic excellence.  They function as a family, and their focus is on the students, striving for each of them to be the very best that they can be, which in turn benefits our community.   The administration is confident that the result of this work will be evident when the SC State Department of Education releases the school report card this month.
