Local Dancer Needs Kidney Transplant

Byron McDaniel is the son of Willie and Mable Bethea and a native of Dillon. At the age of ten, Byron enrolled in the Columbia Ballet Academy as a scholarship student. Later, he was accepted into the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities for classical ballet and modern technique.

At the age of sixteen, he began to train under the instruction of Sherrie Hayes Adams. From there, Byron has gone on to work professionally at places such as Paramount Carowinds as a company dancer and dance captain and onboard luxury cruise lines such as Norwegian and Celebrity Cruises. He has performed all over the world in countries from the USA all the way to Africa.
With aerial work, he performs mainly with the aerial ring. Byron now works as an aerialist and dancer for Celebrity Cruises and has been working for the company for the last 18 years.  When Byron is not performing, he is working with children and young adults developing their talents to their full potential. He is down to earth and very eager to help others. Performing whether on stage or 30 feet in the air, he is like an eternal flame than can never be extinguished. Currently, Byron is on medical leave waiting for a kidney transplant. He is on the transplant list at MUSC in Charleston. He requires a donor who has blood type A+. If interested in donating a kidney, please email him at wavedancer010@gmail.com for more information. Your response to his need will be greatly appreciated.
