Services for James Calvin McCormick will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. McCormick, 68, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.
Born in Fairmont, NC, June 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph Calvin McCormick and Sallie Burniece Arnette Moody. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served from 1965-1969, and was retired from HBS Contractors of Lumberton.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Moody McCormick of Fairmont, NC; daughters, Kim McCormick Vanderslice (William) and Kristy Lynn McCormick, both of Lumberton, NC; beloved grandchildren, Cheri Ward, Chloe Schmidt, William James Banderslice, and Lide Chandler Schmidt; sisters, Sallie Watts of Fairmont, NC, and Barbara Jean Gravely of Ocean Isle Beach; several nephews and nieces.
