Junior Golfers Summer Tour Hits the Greens in Dillon

The South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s Pee Dee Chapter hit the greens at Twin Lakes Country Club in Dillon on Wednesday, June 26, as part of the Hootie & the Blowfish summer series.

Michael Smith of Florence led the Tour Players division with a 75 and Dillon’s Jim Carr tied for second with Justin Muller of Turbeville, each shooting a 78. Carr won a shoot out to take the second place points with Muller taking third place points. Joshua Cooper of Hartsville finished fourth with a 79; Vance Burbage shot an 80 for fifth; and Zack Tanner finished sixth with 81.

In the Players division, Joshua Graham of Kingstree took first place with a 72 and Harrison Breeden of Florence shot a 74 for second. Timmonsville’s Max Holcombe shot a 79 for third.

Florence’s Gene Zeigler led the Mini Tour with 40 points and Cameron Mills of Florence finished second with a 42. Rylee Goff of New Zion was third with a 43. Lake View’s Dylan Rogers finished sixth with a 50.

Latta’s Michael McWhite teed off with the junior golfers at Twin Lakes on Wednesday. McWhite graduated in 2012 and is working as an intern for the SCJGA Pee Dee Chapter this summer.

In the Pee Wee division, Pake June of Florence took first with a score of 40. Jay Smith of Florence shot a 47 for second; Darlington’s Thomas Davis shot a 50 for third; and Florence’s Thomas Matthews finished with a 66.

In the Ladies Tour, Lake View’s Ashley Rogers finished with an 85 for first place and Kiana Baker of Florence shot a 97 for second.

The tour will take a break for the July 4th holiday but will return to action on Monday, July 8 at Traces Golf Course.
