Johnsonville and Lake City could be moving up in the classifciations if the latest South Carolina High School League realignment proposal passes.
Under the proposal, Dillon would remain in Class 2A and Latta and Lake View would remain in Class A. But Region 8-A rival Johnsonville would move up to Class 2A, possibly to Region 7 or Region 8 with the Wildcats. The rest of the Region 8-A and 8-2A teams would stay put for now.
Lake City will return to Class 3A and Socastee would move up to 4A.
The realignment would not take effect for the 2014-2016 seasons. Schools have until June 1 to submit proposoals opposing the realignment. Region assignments will be determined after the realignment is approved.
