The Latta Vikings advanced through the first round of lower state playoffs on Friday, May 3, with a 6-1 win over East Clarendon and continued on through the playoffs to the Class A State Baseball Championship series.

Read more about the first round of lower state playoffs by clicking here. Latta defeated Lake View in the second round of playoffs and defeated the Wild Gators again on Friday in the Lower State Championship.

In the state series, Latta defeated St. Joseph’s Catholic 5-3 on Monday but fell 8-0 to St. Joseph’s on Wednesday. The Vikings and Knights will play tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Spring Valley High to determine the state title.
