Sidney Boatwright

DILLON – Mrs. Sidney Richardson Boatwright, 88, widow of Zack Boatwright and formerly of Marion, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at The Pines Nursing Home after an illness. Mrs. Boatwright was born July 7, 1924 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Ethel Turner Richardson. She had retired from the Marion County Council on Aging. Mrs. Boatwright was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society. Surviving Mrs. Boatwright are: 2 Sons: Zack Wendell Boatwright of Dillon and John Wayne Boatwright of Florence; 2 Daughters: Judy Karol Boatwright and Seina Boatwright, both of Longs; 6 Grandchildren; and 7 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Boatwright was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Boatwright and 2 brothers, Thomas Richardson and Willie Richardson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 29, at the Chapel of Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion, with Rev. Alvin Shifflett officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3913 W. Hwy 76 Marion S.C. 29571. The family will be at the home of Wendell Boatwright at 814 Virginia Lane, Dillon.
