Wildcats Take Down Auctioneers 52-49

The Dillon Wildcats took down the Mullins Auctioneers 52-49 at home on Friday, January 11.

Mullins got off to a strong 16-9 lead in the first quarter, but Dillon took control with a 16-9 second quarter to knot the score at 25-25 going into the half. The Wildcats outscored Mullins 20-9 to take the lead in the third and hung on through a 15-7 rally from the Aucs in the fourth to claim the win.

John Caulder led Dillon with a team-high 12 points with Anthony Blue adding nine and Breon Page scoring eight in the win. Jaquan Knowlin added four points, and Gerome McLeod, Shaqui Cabbagestalk, Gabriel Salmon, and Maurice Williams all added two points for the Wildcats.

Alex Brown scored a game-high 14 points to lead Mullins. Tavon Swinton added 12 points for the Auctioneers and Dmitri Reaves scored 10. Jalek Felton earned nine points and Kameron Graham and Earnell Legette each added two.

Dillon’s record improves to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in Region 8-2A.

Tonight, the Wildcats will be on the road to face the Marion at 6:00 p.m. The Swamp Foxes are 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the region heading into the game.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats will head to Latta to take on the Vikings in a non-region game at 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday, the Wildcats will travel to take on the Loris Lions.
