Lacy Earl Cooke

Services for Lacy Earl Cooke will be held 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon, SC with burial at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Aynor, SC.  Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooke, 80, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
Born in Dillon County, May 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Ernest C. and Ethel Goodwin Cooke of Marion County.  He was the owner and manager of the Casa Del Oro Motel in Myrtle Beach, SC.  He retired from Santee Cooper Electric as a supervisor for 45 years combined with Carolina Power & Light (Progress Energy).  He was a past Mason and Shriner and member of First Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, SC.  He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended the Florence Business School, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Helen W. Quick-Cooke; sister, Ruth C. Inman (Herman) of Marion, SC; step-son, Henry C. Quick, III (Charles & Anita); step-daughters, Helen Darlene Quick and Kathryne L. Quick  of Dillon, SC; step-granddaughter, Megan Quick Terry (Kree) of Dillon, SC; step-grandson, Henry Chad Quick of Dillon, SC; step-granddaughter, Amber Knight Nunez of Charlotte, NC; step-great-grandson, Roman Maxwell Nunez; son-in-law, Michael Scott Knight (Amy) of Johnson City, TN, and several neices and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Hilda Dix Cooke; daughters, Daphne Cooke, and Danea Cooke Knight of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Edward Cooke, Marion, SC, La Faughn Cooke, Savannah, GA; sisters, Beulah C. Patterson, Marion, SC, Ernestine C. Collins, Charleston, SC, Gladys Johnson Lane, Marion, SC, and Carolyn C. Atkinson, Marion, SC.
