South Holds Spelling Bee

South Elementary School held its Spelling Bee under the direction of Gail Carter, teacher librarian, on Monday, March 12. Nine students competed for the school title. Each classroom winner competed for the grade level title and then grade level winners competed for the school title.
Winners were announced after the competition and prizes were awarded. Each classroom winner received a certificate and school supplies in recognition. Grade level winners received personalized certificates and monetary awards compliments of the school’s P.T.O.
The first place winner, Ahmari Huggins-Bruce, received $25.00, the second place winner, Mo’Nazia Sowells, received $15.00, and the third place winner, Janiya McGill, received $10.00.
