Wildcats Take Down Bruins 11-6

After falling 15-5 to South Florence in their first meeting in early March, the Dillon Wildcats took down the Class 4A Bruins 11-6 in their second meeting at South Florence High School in baseball action on Wednesday, April 4.

Daniel Huggins picked up the win for the Wildcats, pitching four and one-third innings and allowing just three hits and two walks with two hit by pitch. He struck out six in his fourth win of the season, bringing his record to 4-1.

Kwinton Smith pitched two and two-thirds innings for the save, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out five.

Jamie Callahan and Patrick Herring led the Wildcats at bat with two hits each.

Dillon’s record improves to 10-2 overall with an undefeated 6-0 in Region 8-2A.

Tonight, the Wildcats will host Lake View’s Wild Gators in a double header beginning at 5:00 p.m.Make plans to attend to support our local teams!

On Wednesday, Dillon will host Mullins, and on Friday, the Wildcats will be at Marion. Both games start at 6:30 p.m.
