Lady Wild Gators Shut Out Hemingway in Double Header

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators shut out Hemingway’s Lady Tigers 17-0 and 10-0 in a double header in softball action Tuesday night in Lake View.

Lake View’s Kayla Sanderson pitched a no-hitter for the win in game one. She pitched all three innings and struck out five. Hemingway’s Woodberry took the loss, pitching both innings for six hits, 17 runs, five earned runs, 10 walks, and two outs.

Lake View scored 10 runs in the first inning and seven in the second off of just six hits. Hemingway had four errors in the game.

At bat for Lake View, Ashley Rogers went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and Chelsea Spivey went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

In game two, Morgan Herlong pitched all four innings to pick up the win for Lake View. She allowed three hits and struck out six. Gardner took the loss for Hemingway, pitching four innings and allowing seven hits, 11 runs, six earned runs, and three walks.

At bat for Lake View, Kayce Wong went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and Kayla Sanderson went 2-for-3.

Lake View’s record improves to 7-8 overall with a 4-4 record in Region 8A.

Up next, the Lady Gators will travel to Marion on Wednesday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12, they’ll be back at home to host Mullins. On Monday, April 16, Lake View will travel to Johnsonville for their next region matchup at 5:30 p.m., and on Friday, April 20, the Lady Gators will host Latta for their final region game of the year.
