The Latta Vikings got their second region win on Tuesday as they defeated Carvers Bay 54-48.
Latta outscored Carvers Bay 9-5 in the first quarter and added 10 points in the second to lead 19-16 at the half. The Vikings managed to go 14-11 in the third to hold on to the lead, and both teams added 21 points in the fourth for the 54-48 finish.
Individual stats for the Vikings had not been reported at press time.
Rayshod Pittman and Teondre Brommell each scored 13 points to lead Carvers Bay, with Da’Shaun Aiken adding 12, Walter Linnen netting five, Leshon Morris earning four, and Rayshod Dorsey scoring one for the Bears.
Latta’s record improves to 3-5 in the regular season and 2-1 in Region 8A.
Up next, the Vikings will host Green Sea Floyds on Friday before traveling to Creek Bridge on Saturday and Johnsonville next Tuesday at 6.
