DCS Warriors Edge Titans 66-61

The Dillon Christian School Warriors picked up another win on Tuesday as they defeated the Trinity Collegiate Titans 66-61.

The Warriors got off to an 18-12 lead in the first quarter but the Titans outscored them 18-16 in the second. The Warriors still carried a 34-30 lead into half-time and in the third they went 20-13 to widen the gap to 54-43. Kin Melvin was crucial in the third as he earned nine of his 25 points during the period. The Titans played catch up in the fourth, outscoring DCS 18-12, but they still fell short of the win by five points.

Kin Melvin led the Warriors with a game-high 25 points with six assists. Neil Melvin added 12 points with 10 rebounds; Jeremiah Cribb scored 11 with five rebounds; and Will Brown earned 10 points with four rebounds in the win. Tyler Davis contributed six with six rebounds, with Dorrian Sellers earning two. Landry Collins grabbed two rebounds for the Warriors.

Damon Samuel also scored a game-high 25 points to lead Trinity Collegiate. Jansen Ford added eight, Michael Pavy earned seven, Gorge Johnson scored six, Tyron McElveen netted five, and Will Naso contributed two, with Justin Covington and Matthew Lee each adding four points for the Titans.

Dillon Christian’s record improves to 4-10 overall and 3-3 in SCISA Region 4-2A. On Friday, the Warriors will travel to Pee Dee Academy to face the Eagles with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m. and varsity action starting at 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, January 17, the Warriors will be back at home to host Kings Academy.
