Marlboro Dragons Down Warriors 61-44

After winning three in a row, the Dillon Christian School Warriors took a 61-44 loss to Marlboro Academy on Friday, December 16.

Marlboro Academy finished the first quarter with a one-point lead at 13-12, but outscored Dillon Christian 18-7 in the second and 14-12 for a 45-31 lead headed into the final quarter. The Dragons added another 16 points in the fourth to the Warriors’ 13 to seal the victory.

Malcolm Calhoun led Marlboro Academy with a game-high 31 points, and Will Bundy added 17 points in the win. Scott Bruner earned seven points, and Stephen Andrews, Chase Bruner, and John Beaty each scored two.

The Warriors were led by Tyler Davis with a team-high 15 points, Kin Melvin with nine, and Matthew Price with eight. Will Brown earned six points, and Jeremiah Cribb, Landry Collins, and Neil Melvin each contributed two points.

Marlboro Academy improves to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the SCISA Region 4-AA. Dillon Christian slips to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the region.

The Warriors are on break for the holidays but return in the new year to host Robert E. Lee on Tuesday, January 3, beginning with junior varsity action at 4:00 p.m. Then on Thursday, January 5, the Warriors will travel to Florence Christian for a non-region matchup before resuming region play on Friday, January 6, when they host Carolina Academy.
