Sara Campbell

Sara Kibler Rogers Campbell died on November 12, 2011 at Heritage Heathcare at the Pines in Dillon, SC, completing her journey of life of eighty-nine years. Funeral services were 3:00 P.M., Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon, SC. Sara was born May 9, 1922 in Newberry, SC and was the daughter of the late Corinne and Rufus Hamilton Kibler. Sara was committed to her church, Pleasant Hill Baptist, and will be remembered for her faithful and steadfast service as pianist for approximately sixty years. She was a lady, kind hearted, possessed a sweet spirit, and a warm, quiet personality. She was devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother, step mother, grandmother, sister, sister in law, and a friend to all who knew her.
She was a homemaker and was employed as an inspector at the Dillon Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed cooking, and was known for her biscuits, chicken salad, pecan pie, and bananna pudding.
She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Women’s Missionary Union and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her loving family: Husband of twenty-four years, Alford Campbell; a daughter, Kay Rogers McLean (Bill); son, Kenneth Leroy Rogers (Tammy); daughter-in-law, Eleanor Kornaherns Burns (James); step-daughter, Lynne Campbell Johnson (Benny); step-son, Larry Campbell (Diane); grandchildren, William Gentry McLean (Holly), Alexander Lee McLean (Lauren), step- grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew Huggins, Michael Brown (Sharon), Timmy Brown, Anita Brown Berry (J. D.); a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rogers Bennicker (Mabry), Jessie Rogers, Patricia Dimery; brothers-in-law Douglas Rogers (Sarah) and Bobby Kenneth Moody.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gentry Leroy Rogers, a sister Ruth Kibler Ninestein, and a brother Rufus Hamilton Kibler, Jr. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Heart and Stroke Foudation, or a charity or foundation of your choice.
