PTI Meeting Held

Our fourth week PTI (Pre Trial Intervention) meeting was held on Monday, October 17, 2011, 7:00 p.m. at the Riverdale Community Center.
The purpose of this meeting is to sponsor a program by the Solicitor’s office called PTI, which consists of “First Time Offenders: who have been charged with non-violent crimes. This is an eight program that consists of various speakers who share their ideas. In these sessions, there is a question and answer session.
The meeting was opened by Rev. Michael Battle, Chaplain, with prayer. Rev. Battle introduced the speakers.
Rev. Johnny Page, Mt. Sinai Free Spirit Church, Bingham, talked about the goodness of the Lord. He told the participants don’t worry about the things you can’t control. God is in control He talked about God’s creation. He has a blanket of protection around us. God gave us his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He encouraged the participants to serve God only. We all serve the same God. He sat high and looks low. He does not look at our color. In closing, Rev. Page told the participants, “Don’t worry, be happy.”
Rev. Michael Battle, Chaplain, reiterated some of Rev. Page’s comments. He added to the comment, “Don’t worry, be happy.” He stated that the earth is the Lord’ s and the fullness there of and that they dwell there in. (Psalm 24:1).
We serve a God who goes beyond a second chance. He is our bridge over troubled waters, our doctor in a sick room and our way maker.
In closing, Rev. Battle stated that when life seems to have backed us into a corner, He will bring you out. Just trust and believe.
