Alton Langley Blackmon

Alton Langley Blackmon, 69, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at his home in Bedford, TX.
Alton was born in Dillon, SC, son of Ruth Davis B. Long and the late Albert Langley Blackmon.
He graduated from Dillon High School, served 4 years in the Navy, graduated from USC in Columbia, SC and earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Wake Forest University, Wake Forest, NC. He retired from General Electric.
Surviving are his wife Christine Blackmon of Bedford, TX; daughter, Dawn Renee (Alan) Brownof Fort Worth, TX; mother, Ruth B. Long of Dillon, SC; 2 sisters, Mary Davis of Rowland, NC, and Regina (Michael) Hamilton of Dillon, SC; brother, Jimmy (Teresa) Blackmon of Pineville, W. Va. He is survived by 3 grandchildren, Alan Brown, Rachel Brown, and Taliana Brown of Fort Worth, TX. A memorial service was held October 9, 2011 at Open Door Church, Bedford, TX.
