Mustangs Invade South of the Border for Ninth Annual Round-up

The ninth annual Mustang Round-up show sponsored by the Eastern South Carolina Mustang Club of Florence was held Saturday, March 26, at South of the Border.

The Eastern South Carolina Mustang Club of Florence, S.C., was started in 1998 and is sanctioned by The Mustang Club of America as a regional affiliate. MCA is the National organization for Mustang enthusiasts. The President of this club is Mr. Gene Turner of Florence, who also is an MCA National Gold Card Judge. This show was judged by MCA modified rules.

The inclement weather held the crowd to a somewhat smaller group then the greatest crowd ever at last year’s event. However, there was much to see and do at the event.

The large number of cars entered not only had beautiful Mustangs but all makes and models of Fords and Ford powered vehicles.

Cars from several states were present for the event, and trophies were presented to 100 participants.

Auctions were held throughout the day with great items.

For the ninth year in a row, the Dillon County Humane Society was the recipient of this year’s proceeds from the event. The Dillon County Humane Society has been the only recipient of the proceeds in the round-up’s history.

Plans are already underway for next year’s event. So, if you missed this year’s event make plans to be here for the next one!
