Lady Wildcats Finish 17-2 Over Auctioneers

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats finished 17-2 over Mullins on Friday, March 18, to improve their overall record to 10-4 this season.

Dillon scored first in the second to give them a 1-0 lead, and added seven points in the third and nine points in the fourth to give them the win. The Auctioneers scored both their points in the fourth.

Taylor Price was the winning pitcher for Dillon, pitching in all five innings for two hits, two runs, two earned runs, and four walks, and striking out nine.

Shaquailla German led at bat, going 2-for-4 and getting a home run that brought in four runs for the Wildcats, and Darby Hamer went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs, and three RBIs. Shayna Covington also went 3-for-3 and had two runs and two RBIs.

Other batters included Tara Grimsley, 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs; Rebecca Callahan, 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs; Taylor Price, 1-for-3 with one run and three RBIs; Chelsey Wallace, 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI; Dallas Rowell, 1-for-4 with one run and an RBI; Brittany Gilchrist, 1-for-2 with one run; and Lindsay Powers, 1-for-1 with one run.

The losing pitcher was J. Brantley with five innings pitched, 16 hits, 17 runs, four walks, and no strike outs.

Dillon’s softball record rises to 10-4 overall with an undefeated 2-0 record in Region 8-2A. The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to host Marion tonight at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Lake View tomorrow night at 6:30.
