Fresh off a 6-1 win over the Raiders on Monday night, the Lady Vikings traveled to Hannah-Pamplico to defeat them a second time, 11-1.
Latta took the lead early with single scores in the second and third innings. The Lady Vikings scored three runs in the fifth, which was also the only inning that the Raiders scored in. Latta capped the win by bringing home six more Vikings in the seventh inning for a total of 11-1.
The winning pitcher was Latta’s Morgan Mason who pitched in all seven innings. She gave up five hits, one walk, and one unearned run, and struck out three Raiders.
Leading hitters for Latta were Allison Moody who finished 3-for-5, including a home run, and made one double and two RBIs. Charise Braddy went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Chelsea Welty, Kaitlin Lewis, and Page Lovett all went 2-for-4. Welty had three RBIs, Lovett had two, and Lewis had one.
Latta’s overall record improves to 6-5-1. The Lady Vikings were scheduled to travel to Carvers Bay on Friday at 5:30, and will travel to Green Sea-Floyds on Tuesday, March 15.
