Latta’s junior varsity Vikings tied with Hannah-Pamplico’s junior varsity Raiders on Wednesday night at Hannah-Pamplico.
The winning pitcher was Latta’s Dori Webster. Webster pitched a complete game, giving up only two hits, one ball and one earned run. She also struck out four Raiders.
Lead hitters for Latta were Tristan Martin who went 2-3, and Cora Owens who went 2-2 with one RBI. Morgan Monahan went 1-3 with one RBI.
The losing pitcher was Hannah-Pamplico’s Lyndsey Prosser. Prosser gave up three hits, three balls, and one earned run, but struck out eight players.
Lead hitters for the Raiders were Melanie Perrott and Kirsten Rogers who each went 1-2 with one RBI.
The JV Vikings are now 2-0 in the regular softball season and will next host a double header against Green Sea-Floyds on Monday, March 14, at 5:00 p.m. On Thursday, March 17, they will travel to Lake View for another double header at 5:00 p.m.
