Lady Wild Gators Shut Out Allendale Tigers, Stay Alive in Playoffs

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators shut out the Allendale-Fairfax Tigers 17-0 in three innings in Fairfax on Monday night to stay alive in the Class A District VII playoffs.

The Lady Gators jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning, and added six runs each in the second and third for the 17-0 win. Lake View had 14 hits, while holding the Tigers to just three hits with three errors.

Morgan Herlong picked up the win on the mound, pitching three innings for four outs while allowing just three hits and one walk. M. Bolden took the loss for the Tigers, pitching three innings for 14 hits, 17 runs, 14 earned runs, seven walks, and four outs.

Kayla Sanderson went 4-for-4 at bat for Lake View, with Chelsea Spivey and Kayce Wong each going 2-for-2 with three RBI.

The Lady Wild Gators were now 12-12 overall as they headed into Wednesday night’s district title game against East Clarendon.

The Lady Wolverines defeated Lake View 10-0 in the first round of district playoffs, and shut out Allendale-Fairfax 13-0 on Saturday to earn their place in the title game.

If Lake View is successful against East Clarendon Wednesday night, they’ll have to defeat the Wolverines one more time to claim the district title.

The Class A Lower State Tournament begins on Saturday, with the District VII champ hosting the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans. The Lady Trojans defeated Bamberg-Ehrhardt 16-0 on Tuesday to claim the District VIII title.
