Gators Hit Six Home Runs in 16-3 Win Over Pee Dee

Hunter Walters, Zach Allen, Cody Cox, A.J. Hyatt, and Skyler Jennings all hit home runs and Jordan Miller got a grand slam as Lake View went 16-3 over the Pee Dee Academy Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 23.

Both teams earned three points in the first inning, with Hunter Walters and Zach Allen each hitting a home run. Lake View quickly took a large lead in the second, adding six points that included two more home runs, one from Cody Cox and one from A.J. Hyatt. In the third, the Wild Gators added another six runs with Jordan Miller hitting a grand slam and Skyler Jennings hitting a home run. Lake View capped the win with one more run in the fourth while holding Pee Dee to only three points.

John Michael Brown was the winning pitcher for Lake View as he went two and two-thirds innings and allowed no hits, no runs, and only two walks, striking out two Eagles. Brody Smith pitched two winnings and allowed no hits and two walks, striking out one. Shawn Lewis pitched one-third of an inning and gave up one hit, three runs, three earned runs, and two walks.

Lake View’s hitters included Jordan Miller, 1-for-1 with a grand slam, two runs, and five RBIs; Zach Allen, 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and an RBI; Skyler Jennings, 2-for-2 with a home run, one run and two RBIs; A.J. Hyatt, 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs; Hunter Walters, 2-for-2 with a home run, one run, and two RBIs; Cody Cox, 1-for-3 with one home run, one run, and three RBIs; Chris Ford, 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI; Steele Spivey, 1-for-3 with two runs; Eric Munoz, 0-for-1 with one run; Nate Lewis, 1-for-1 with one run; and John Michael Brown, 1-for-1.

For the Eagles, V.J. Pridgen was the losing pitcher, going three innings and giving up 12 hits, 15 runs, 10 earned runs, and five walks, striking out two. Daniels was the relief pitcher, going two innings and giving up three hits and one run, striking out four.

Pee Dee Academy’s lead hitter was Storm Page, 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Martin went 0-for-2 and scored one run on a walk, and Davis went 0-for-1 and scored Pee Dee’s third run on a walk. Daniels went 1-for-1, and Boileau went 1-for-3, while Pridgen and Hill each went 0-for-1 with an RBI.

Lake View’s record improved to 7-0 in the regular season heading into Friday night’s matchup against Latta. On Wednesday, March 30, the Wild Gators will travel to Mullins for a non-league game at 6:00 p.m.
