Lake View Students To Be Published In Anthology

Recently, twenty-eight Lake View High School 8th grade students were selected to have their work published in the Creative Communications anthology honoring young poets entitled, A Celebration of Poets – Spring 2019.

Each year Poetic Power sponsors a poetry contest for all students in grades 6-9 across the southeastern United States to highlight their writing talent. Thousands upon thousands of entries are sent; therefore, it is a true honor to be selected. Because so many were selected to be published this year, Lake View High School will also receive a free copy that will be housed in the Media Center. Their 8th grade English teacher, Mrs. Erica Wright, will also become eligible for one of the many $250 grants to use in purchasing writing supplies for her classroom. (Note: Creative Communications is credited with Taylor Swift’s career beginnings. She entered her poem as a middle school student and was a “top ten” finalist for her grade division, sparking a need to become a song writer.)
