Marion Comes From Behind To Defeat Lake View Junior Legion

Marion came from behind to defeat Lake View 5-4 in Junior American Legion baseball in a game played in Marion on Friday, June 23.
Marion scored 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to capture the win.
Lake View jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. However, Marion placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first to close the gap 3-2.
Marion tied the game at 3 with a run in the bottom of the third inning.
The game remained knotted at 3 until Lake View managed a run in the top of the fifth inning. The scoring remained that way until Marion rallied with 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Lake View committed 3 errors in the game while Marion committed 2.
Lake View collected 8 hits in the game while Marion managed 7.
Dalton Buffkin connected for 3 hits and a 2 rbi in 4 at-bats for Marion while Caleb Oakley garnered a rbi and 2 hits in 4 at-bats.
Conner Gasque picked up the win. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 hits, no runs, walked no one, and struck out 2.
Jake Lane was tagged with the loss for Lake View.
